This notice explains how the private beta handles reading and account data.
Reading and lookup data
When you request an explanation, Vocab Reader sends the selected word or phrase, its containing sentence, and nearby paragraph context to the configured AI and dictionary providers. The reader does not send a whole pasted text for a normal lookup.
What is stored
Guest pasted text is not stored permanently. Signed-in learners can choose to save reading texts and vocabulary. Saved words keep the selected text, source sentence, contextual explanation, list memberships, and chosen review status.
Your choices
Signed-in learners can download their saved app data or delete their saved texts, words, lists, and preferences from Settings. Deletion anonymizes retained operational records where needed for security, quality, and provider-cost reporting.
Analytics and error monitoring
The beta uses privacy-safe product analytics and error monitoring. Normal telemetry avoids full pasted text, selected text, provider credentials, authentication tokens, and cookies.
